2019 was the year that was the calm before the storm.

Oblivious to the chaos that was to come the following year, GBA went from strength to strength in 2019.

GBA started the year with 21 personnel actively engaged across a variety of projects. The workload in NSW and Adelaide exploded and our head count grew to 28 people by October.

Our involvement in the Beach Energy, Santos, BHP and Sydney Water portfolios grew and by middle of 2019 GBA was managing time, cost and risk across $5bn of projects.

We were lucky enough to become involved in the Memorial and Ashford Hospital redevelopment projects which were fantastic projects to be a part of. Not only did GBA work along side RPS, Mossop and Schiavello for these projects, but the projects served as training grounds for exposing graduates to the world of construction.

Whilst many of our engagements in 2018 carried over into 2019, there were numerous new ones including:

  • Whyalla Coke Oven upgrade
  • Adelaide City Tram Extension dispute
  • Old Cooma Road construction
  • APY Lands Road construction program
  • Olympic Dam RCP project
  • Pym to Regency Road Tender
  • Maintenance planning support to the New Royal Adelaide Hospital

The road ahead looked pretty cruisy. But no one was prepared for the accidents laying ahead.
